- Ingredients:
- Puff Pastry Sheet -- 1-2
- Baby Spinach -- 200 grams
- Garlic Cloves -- 2-4
- Olive Oil -- 1 tablespoon
- Cream Cheese -- 250 grams
- Egg -- 1
- Mozzarella Cheese -- 1/2 cup
- Salt -- Pinch
- Egg Yolk -- 1
- Black Pepper -- Pinch
- Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400-degree Fahrenheit (200 degree Celsius) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Sauté the minced garlic for about 2 minutes until soft.
- Add the baby spinach to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until wilted.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6-12 squares, depending on the desired size, and place them on the baking tray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and one beaten egg.
- Season with salt and pepper, then mix thoroughly.
- Divide the spinach mixture evenly among the pastry squares.
- Fold two opposite edges of each square, pressing them tightly together.
- Brush the tops of the spinach puffs with egg yolk.
- Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, until the puffs are golden brown.
- Note and Tips:
- Preheat the oven to the recommended temperature without overheating.
- The garlic should be minced finely before use.
- Ensure the squares are cut evenly and maintained in a uniform shape and size.
- Do not over bake.
