"Cream Cheese Spinach Puffs"

 


  • Ingredients:
    • Puff Pastry Sheet  --  1-2
    • Baby Spinach  --  200 grams
    • Garlic Cloves  --  2-4
    • Olive Oil  --  1 tablespoon
    • Cream Cheese  --  250 grams
    • Egg  --  1
    • Mozzarella Cheese  --  1/2 cup
    • Salt  --  Pinch
    • Egg Yolk  --  1
    • Black Pepper  --  Pinch


  • Instructions:
    • Preheat the oven to 400-degree Fahrenheit (200 degree Celsius) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
    • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Sauté the minced garlic for about 2 minutes until soft.
    • Add the baby spinach to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until wilted.
    • Remove from heat and allow to cool.
    • Cut the puff pastry sheet into 6-12 squares, depending on the desired size, and place them on the baking tray.
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and one beaten egg.
    • Season with salt and pepper, then mix thoroughly.
    • Divide the spinach mixture evenly among the pastry squares.
    • Fold two opposite edges of each square, pressing them tightly together.
    • Brush the tops of the spinach puffs with egg yolk.
    • Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, until the puffs are golden brown.


  • Note and Tips:
    • Preheat the oven to the recommended temperature without overheating.
    • The garlic should be minced finely before use.
    • Ensure the squares are cut evenly and maintained in a uniform shape and size.
    • Do not over bake.
