- Ingredients:
- Puff Pastry -- 3 sheets
- Pastry cream -- 500 grams
- Milk -- 500 ml
- Egg yolks -- 6
- Sugar -- 100 grams
- Cornstarch -- 40 grams
- Butter -- 50 grams
- Vanilla extract -- 1 tablespoon
- Icing sugar -- For dusting
- Filling:-
- Pastry cream + Icing sugar
- Instructions:
- Bake the puff pastry sheets at 200 degree Celsius (400-degree Fahrenheit) for 15 -20 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Prepare the pastry cream by cooking milk, egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, butter, and vanilla until thick.
- Cool the pastry cream completely.
- Layer pastry, pastry cream, and another pastry sheet.
- Repeat the layers and finish with the top pastry.
- Dust with icing sugar or decorate with classic icing before serving.
- Note and Tips:
- Bake the puff pastry sheets in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Keep a close eye on them to prevent overbaking.
- Before serving, dust with icing sugar or add a layer of classic icing for decoration.
- Ensure the pastry cream has cooled completely before proceeding.
- Place a pastry sheet, spread an even layer of pastry cream over it, and top with another pastry sheet. Repeat the layers, finishing with a pastry sheet on top.
